Flood Restoration in Spokane, WA

When the light at the top of the basement stairs shows water over the bottom step, call Pure Restore for flood restoration in Spokane, WA. We’ll pump it out and tell you straight what kind of water it is, because that decides what can be saved.

Water everywhere? Cool cool cool.

That’s more or less what goes through everyone’s head at the bottom of the stairs. A flood moves a lot of water at once and soaks into whatever it reaches: boxes, the bottom of the couch, the carpet, the first foot of drywall.

Before anything gets carried out, we want you upstairs and dry. If the water is anywhere near outlets, cords or the furnace, stay up there and call us from the kitchen.

Yeah, this sucks. We’ll take it from here.

Losing a basement full of stuff is hard, even when most of it was storage. We pump out the water, haul away what can’t come back, clean everything the water touched, and dry what’s left. Before anything leaves the house, we photograph it room by room. Your adjuster will want that record, and you shouldn’t have to make it standing in wet socks.

Clean water or sewage? It matters.

Floodwater isn’t all the same, and the kind you have decides what we can keep.

  • Rain, snowmelt or a broken supply line

This starts out fairly clean. Carpet, drywall and furniture can often be dried and kept if we get to them quickly.

  • A sewer or floor-drain backup

A different job. It needs more cleaning, and soft materials it soaked, like carpet pad and drywall, usually come out instead of being dried.

  • Water that sat for days, or crossed the yard

Even if it started clean, we treat it with the same extra care as a backup.

  • Not sure which you have?

You don’t need the industry terms. We’ll tell you which kind it is, and what that means for your things, before anything goes in the dumpster.

Flash floods in Valley Ford

Valley Ford sits out on the plains southeast of Spokane Valley, and a hard storm there can turn into a flash flood quickly. Water runs across open ground and into whatever is lowest, which is often a basement or a crawl space. Closer to town, flooding is more often a storm that drops more rain than the drains can take, or a sewer line backing up through a floor drain.

“This is the second time I used Pure Restore. After they repaired water damage in a bathroom earlier this year we had a new incident in our kitchen needing extensive work. There was no question about who we’d call. Every interaction with them was so professional and pleasant. Their quality of work blew me away both times. It left me thinking of renovating parts of my house just so I’d get to have them back out. These are your guys.”

They were professional, great with communication, and some of the nicest people we have ever had come through our door. We cannot thank them enough for their help and outstanding customer service. Highly recommend!”

Flood questions

Can you save things that sat in floodwater?

Hard items like dishes, tools and plastic bins often clean up fine. Soft things that soaked up sewage are much harder to save. We go through it with you item by item and photograph whatever has to go.

Should I go down and look?

Not if the water is near outlets, cords, the furnace or the water heater. Stay upstairs and call us. If the electrical panel is down there too, leave the power to the utility or an electrician.

How do you clean up after a sewage backup?

We remove the soft materials the backup soaked, like carpet pad and the bottom of the drywall, then clean every hard surface it touched before the drying starts. Until we’re done, keep everyone out of that part of the house.
