Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration in Spokane, WA

The first 24 hours of fire and smoke damage restoration in Spokane are about keeping things from getting worse. Once the fire department clears the house, we get the water from the fire hoses out and start on the soot before it sets into paint and fabric. After that we clean, deal with the smell and rebuild, and you hear about each step before we take it.

Here’s what happens next.

  1. Walk through once the fire department clears it

We go through the house with you and check which rooms are ready to use.

  2. Stop the damage spreading

We pull out the water left from putting the fire out, get fresh air moving, and protect the rooms the smoke hasn’t reached.

  3. Sort what cleans up from what can’t

Room by room, we tell you what can be cleaned and what has to be replaced, before anything leaves the house.

  4. Clean the soot

Walls, ceilings, cabinets and fixtures get cleaned in every room the soot reached.

  5. Rebuild what burned

Our reconstruction crew replaces the drywall, flooring and paint the fire took.

How you’re doing comes first

After a fire, the house is only part of what needs fixing. You may also be short on sleep, staying somewhere else, and trying to remember what was in the hall closet. When you call, we’ll ask how you’re holding up before we ask about square footage.

We’d like the job, of course. Getting you through this well matters more to us than who you hire.

Smoke goes further than the fire did

Smoke travels through vents and into wall cavities, and heat can damage wiring and framing that look fine from inside the room. When we open a wall and find more, we’ll tell you what it does to the timeline.

We’re here through every step.

If you’re filing a claim, the photos and the room-by-room list start on our first visit. How we help with insurance claims.

Fire country on the edge of town

Cheney, Medical Lake and Nine Mile Falls sit on the edge of town, where dry grass and pine run right up to the yards, and wildfires and house fires are a real risk out there. We also take smoke jobs in fire season, when the house didn’t burn but the soot and smell got in anyway.

Other help after a fire

Smoke belongs in BBQ. Not bedrooms.

Even a small kitchen fire can push smoke smell into closets, carpet and bedding at the far end of the house. An air freshener buys you an afternoon. The smell comes from soot and residue on surfaces, so we clean those first, treat the rooms the smoke reached, and seal a surface only once it’s clean.

After a fire

Can we stay in the house after a fire?

The fire department decides when you can go back in. After that, we’ll walk through with you and tell you which rooms are fine to use and which need to wait.

Should I clean up the soot myself?

Hold off if you can. Wiping soot with a damp cloth or a household cleaner tends to smear it into paint and fabric. Take photos for your insurance, open a window if the weather allows, and let us look first.

What happens to the things that can’t be cleaned?

We photograph and list them room by room before they leave the house, and you see the list. Nothing goes to the dumpster without you knowing about it.

We are here for you.

Whatever happened, call and talk to a real person. We'll tell you what we'd do next, whether we perform the work or not.
